Lengthening Nights

Today was very cool and wet. It was dark outside as well. This combination always drives me into the nest in Autumn. On these types of days, all I want to do is curl up with a cup of hot tea in a cozy room and read and knit and dream crafty dreams.

Luckily for me, I had a bit of time to do that today:

Warm light and candles. Firewood at the ready for a cheerful, crackling fire.

My very favorite fall-time scent, which fills the house with the smell of spiced cider, vanilla candy, and a deeper note of cinnamon.

Full shelves calling my name. Old friends are among the spines, as well as a few with which I’m planning to become acquainted this winter.

Shelves full of wool. The candlelight makes all these warm, autumny colors glow. I dream of clever fair isle patterns that use every color.
