What boat trip?

Today I am writing a blog post and not thinking about the 1000 things that are still waiting to be completed before 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.

So, I am going to show you happy pictures of yarn and fun things to come, so for 10 minutes I can pretend that the rest of my day won’t be going full tilt!

(And as an aside, the Captain’s taking the camera with him on the trip, so I bought myself a treat on Wednesday – a NEW Cannon Powershot ELPH 100 HS. It’s basically the same camera as I’ve been using, but with a few more specialties. I’ve taken only 6 pictures with it so far, but already I love it even more than its predecessor!!!)

Remember these socks? At the end of April I’d just casted on one toe. I’ve been knitting a little amost every day, and it’s adding up.

It’s my first pair of toe-up socks, following this recipe: Denise’s Toe Up Socks. Because I hate knitting the second sock almost as much as I hate Kitchenering toes closed, I am knitting both at the same time. Not “two at a time”, but on separate sets of needles. This is also working nicely because I’m not following a specific pattern but making them custom for my own feet, so since I’m knitting a few rows on each at a time, I don’t have to remember 4 months down the road how many extra stitches I knit at the gusset to cover up the holes caused while turning the heel.

I’m sure that sounds like a lot of mumbo-jumbo unless you are a knitter, in which case you TOTALLY get the excellence of this plan. 😉

Also, does this picture give you a hint to what’s going to be going on here at CI the minute the crew leaves the dock?

I thought so. Bring it, Summer!!!

Happy Friday, everyone.

    Though I’m not a knitter, I totally understand and appreciate the madness of your — well — madness!! I’d do the same thing!

    The thing that boggles my mind is the bottom picture — you know the one with all the green and white packaging? What is all that for?! I don’t understand.

    ;-)) ((-;

    ~So being sarcastic on that one. Especially being as our season is approaching and it’s scaring me!!~

      I can understand why you’d be scared. You guys are not exactly “dabblers” in food preservation.!!!!!
